View of the inside of the over-denture with female components. Female components come in retentive strengths of 1.5 pounds (blue), 3.0 pounds (pink) and 5.0 pounds (clear). The above example shows 4 blue components in place. These can be changed out to meet the patient’s retention requirements.

Conclusion: Implant supported over-dentures are an excellent way to improve health, function and aesthetics. THE USE OF LOCATOR ATTACHMENTS WITH DENTAL IMPLANTS IS THE MOST ECONOMICAL WAY TO ACHIEVE A RETENTIVE PROSTHESIS. A STABLE PROSTHESIS CAN IMPROVE PATIENT SELF-ESTEEM.
